Manoranjan Nagri (translated as ‘amusement city’) is a seasonal open- air amusement park located in the heart of many cities in India, Every village or city in India hosts travelling fairs or carnivals that suddenly erupt at a certain time of the year. An amusement park is a place where one can become a part of the ‘carnival’ of excess. It is as if, in that moment, you have transcended the mundane. It is a moment of pure joy, even if it is ephemeral in nature.
